Banded Centipede Identification

Here’s a simple species to identify from our centipede training 2017. The Banded Centipede (Lithobius veriegatus) can be identified apart from other centipedes as it has purple bands on its legs and centrally along its back.

We are hoping to get more sightings of this centipede this year. Check out your gardens and schools to see if this creature is hiding in the leaf litter and let us know! Send your sightings –
